The Melbourne Gliding Club operates from the Bacchus Marsh airfield which is a 50 minute drive from Melbourne along the Western Highway.
It is situated on the Bacchus Marsh–Geelong Road, about eight kilometres south of the Bacchus Marsh township. Bacchus Marsh is some 50 kilometres west of Melbourne, just off the Western Highway.

Parking arrangements when using Runway 27
There is to be no parking between the clubs' operations vehicles, the white gable markers and the dirt road as shown in the sketch above. This area is to be used to park gliders safely off line behind the gable markers, as required by aerodrome regulations.
The MGC bus is to be parked on the edge of the dirt road and about 25m west of where we usually park. Only operations vehicles belonging to the clubs including the BGC bus, the GGC car-caravan, buggies and fire trailer are to park in this area.
Cars can still park as shown on the southern side of the dirt road, making sure the the road is clear.
Additional parking near R27 is available just east of the glider tow-out path. Parking signs and markings will direct members and visitors to all club to park at 90° on the dirt track inside the fence [see the sketch above].
